TITLE: REGISTERED NURSE

QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure as a registered nurse in accordance with appropriate Florida Statues.

Experience in a pediatric setting preferred.

REPORTS TO: As assigned on current organizational chart

POSITION GOAL: To provide professional nursing services to students enrolled in Bay County

Schools.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conduct initial health and vision screening.

2. Check and maintain general health of students.

3. Administer first aid or emergency care as needed.

4. Administer medication and treatment prescribed by physicians.

5. Conduct parent conferences and maintain liaison between physicians, parents and staff.

6. Conduct inservice training for staff regarding health and hygiene.

7. Coordinate special diets with food services staff.

8. Maintain health records and immunizations required by the Bay County Health Department.

9. Keep careful records, prepare incident reports and make reports as necessary.

10. Purchase medical supplies and control clinic inventory.

11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten months.

Evaluation: Performance evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s

policies on evaluation of licensed personnel.
